Hello Challenger Elementary Family,
I hope you had a great weekend!!
I want to extend a BIG THANK YOU to our GRANDS! We had GRANDS who visited from as close as a mile from the school to as far as 600 miles away! Thank you for taking the time to be with us last Thursday and Friday. Hopefully, seeing your grandchild and their special friends at school will make you want to visit with us again! If you were unable to attend, you were missed and we look forward to seeing you in the near future.
For those who were able to visit, I hope you could tell that the excitement of you eating lunch with us was felt throughout the entire school! Your visit not only brought joy to the scholars, but also to the entire school community. Seeing the smiles on our scholars' faces was amazing. We even spotted some scholars jumping like little beans, unable to contain their excitement.
We will be having our Open House on Thursday, September 12th at 5:30 pm. We will follow the schedule below:
5:30 pm - 6:00 pm: K - 2nd Grade Classroom Visits
6:00 pm - 6:30 pm: PTA Meeting in Cafeteria
6:30 pm - 7:00 pm: 3rd - 5th Grade Classroom Visits
Beginning of the year, assessments have been conducted for all K – 5th grade scholars. Scores were sent home in Wednesday Folders on September 4th. With that being said, it is time for Parent Teacher Conferences. If your scholar's teacher has not contacted you, please contact/communicate with them that you would like to schedule a parent teacher conference.
Tardy and attendance letters will be sent home weekly. Please remember that we can only accept up to 7 parent excuses per school year, and vacations/trips are not excused absences. Late check-ins and early check-outs can disrupt your child's learning, so please be mindful of this as you plan. You can view the HCS year calendar for our scheduled breaks. Submit your excuses to the front office or email them to Danna Freeman, Kendra Humphrey, and your child's classroom teacher.
