Farley Elementary School

Mrs. Arafat's students celebrated Black History Month by honoring famous African Americans who contributed to our country. Each student chose a person they were interested in learning more about by reading self-selected books, studying, and sharing their findings with other students in their classrooms. Students created a Time Capsule for their person, and they made it as if they were that person. They choose objects that represent the people, places, and events that were important to the person. They also used objects that represented their interests or aspects of their personality. Students had fun sharing their Time Capsules with Farley students by displaying their Book Reports in front of the library.
