Students decorating pumpkins

Knowing that hands-on exploration is the best way to learn, Farley Pre-K spent the last few weeks exploring fall gardening. After a trip to Tate Farms, each student participated in lessons to explore apples and then pumpkins. The students participated in various activities.  The students decorated pumpkins.  We also used our five senses to explore pumpkins (we even got to taste them by baking pumpkin seeds and making pumpkin bread). We tied this into our color vocabulary study based on the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle.  We had fun with our investigation, and we learned a lot too!
