We are collecting interest for PTA officers and Committee Chairs. Below please find a description of each position and a link to submit your contact information to serve in one of these roles.

PTA Officers

President: Organizes and runs the meetings to make sure committee chairs have what they need. They also interact with the national PTA organization and work for the general PTA organization.

Vice President of Programs: Oversees student enrichment committees and school programs (spirit night, silent auction, fundraisers, etc.).

Vice President of Membership: Communicates to the Farley school community about membership cost, benefits, and details. Collects membership dues and updates the membership list to be turned into the state organization.

Treasurer: Maintains the accounting and maintains the budget for the PTA. Approves reimbursements and issuing checks as well as vendor payments as needed.

Secretary: Take notes during monthly meetings and writes them up to maintain a historical record. The secretary also manages the PTA monthly newsletter.

These positions are usually held over a 2-year full school year period.

Committee Chairs

Book Fair: Works with the Farley Librarian to support the Book Fair. In conjunction with working with Scholastic to plan a date, facilitate setup and breakdown, and volunteer schedules. Must also communicate with administration and PTA to promote the Fair.

Reflections: Works with the Reflections organization to get all necessary details together to ensure all submissions are properly sent off for Farley including submission date, judging dates, theme. Must communicate with administrations and PTA to help promote and advertise.

Hospitality: Organizes staff appreciation (birthdays, teacher appreciation week, other things as funding allows). Must communicate with administration and PTA to ensure proper dates and working as the POC for any outside vendor use.

Duty Free Lunch Coordinator: In charge of updating sign-up genius for duty free lunch and then alerting teachers if they need to continue to share it with their class to find volunteers.

Super Kids Day Coordinator: In charge of acting as POC for the needs of Super Kids Day (Farley’s Field Day) as requested by our PE Coach. This could include reservation of bounce houses, gathering of snacks and supplies, and managing volunteer sign-ups and class scheduling.

Room Mom Coordinator: In charge of setting up communication system to keep room parents on the same page with upcoming events and communicates ideas to new/returning room parents for successful ideas on how to help the parties run smoothly.

First Semester Community Outreach Coordinator: POC for fall activities including Trunk or Treat. Will need to work with PTA to ensure everyone is on the same page with progress and activities to occur during the events.

December Activity Coordinator: POC for December activities including Santa Shop and Popcorn and a Movie Donation Day. Will need to work with PTA to ensure everyone is on the same page with progress and activities to occur during the events.

Second Semester Community Outreach Coordinator: POC for your choice of Dance, Game Night, Movie Night, etc. for the second semester. Will need to work with PTA to ensure everyone is on the same page with progress and activities to occur during the events.

These positions in addition to communication with PTA will need to attend some of the monthly board meetings leading up to your coordinating event. The PTA will contact you about which meetings you will need to attend.
