Wow! This year has started so well in music class. Here are some things we have been working on and some things to look forward to as well.
- Kindergarten has been working on steady beat and using their voices. 1st grade has been reviewing music skills and playing the Orff instruments.
- 2nd grade has been layering rhythm instruments into an Ostinato and will be playing a scale on the Orff instruments with a book titled “Courage”.
- 3rd grade has started prepping their December Musical “The Incredible Reindeer”. You will want to be sure and not miss that performance. It’s on the PTA calendar.
- 4th grade is learning the history of the Star-Spangled Banner and a flag routine in preparation for the Veterans Day Parade. Did you know that one of our 4th grade students’ fathers is a distant cousin of Francis Scott Key the writer of the SSB lyrics? Pretty cool.
- Finally, the 5th graders are playing the Ukuleles that were purchased with ESSER funds from the government to help with learning loss from Covid.
I love, love, my music teaching job and your students make it all worthwhile! They are well behaved and want to learn.
