Goldsmith-Schiffman Elementary School 3rd graders partnered with Earthscope to attend Wheeler National Wildlife and Cook's Museum of Natural Science. The third-grade students had the opportunity to observe a variety of species of birds and animals through binoculars at the observation building. The students were also able to investigate the variations in characteristics among species and apply key vocabulary associated with human influence on the environment, including irrigation, aeration, urbanization, reforestation, erosion, and migration. During, our time at Cook’s Museum of Natural Science the students participated in a scavenger hunt in the museum and engaged in group activities identifying key concepts about Alabama's history.
