In January the first grade at GSES kicked off their annual Owlsome Readers program with a musical performance and parade of book characters. The students spent the next five weeks reading books at home and sending in paper links for everything they read. These links filled the first-floor hallways and showed everyone what amazing readers they have become. The students were excited about all the prizes they earned for their reading! It really was the best five weeks of first grade! The first-grade teachers are very grateful for the support this program receives from the school and the community.
