Goldsmith Schiffman Elementary School recently held a tremendously successful Night with the Arts - an evening culminating in a fantastic performance that beautifully integrated history, math, and student's creativity through their own blues songs. Fifth-grade students showcased their musical talents with canjos and cigar box guitars during the performance.
The event focused on Alabama history while incorporating math, English, and arts, allowing students to express their learning in unique ways and demonstrating the power of arts integration into the curriculum. Each student's artwork was framed and displayed, and parents had the opportunity to purchase their children's framed and matted pieces, further enhancing community involvement.
