Greenpower car with students

Greenpower USA is an exciting program that allows students to engage in hands-on learning about renewable energy and engineering. GSES students have been hard at work getting everything ready for the race at Grissom on Saturday, March 29th. They have successfully developed their car to run and have taken rides down the halls to test it out, using only one battery to ensure it goes slow inside, since it is so cold outside. Through this initiative, students work together to design, build, and race electric cars, gaining practical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Participants not only learn about the principles of electricity and sustainable energy sources but also develop teamwork and problem-solving abilities as they collaborate on projects. By competing in races, students experience the thrill of applying their knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering a deeper understanding of how green technologies can shape the future. Ultimately, Greenpower USA empowers students to become innovative thinkers and advocates for sustainability in their communities.
