Welcome to 2023 at HCES!!!
Since school began on August 2, 2022, HCES has welcomed 23 new or returning families and will welcome at least 8 more this semester. Please join us in welcoming our new families and making them feel at home.
Our faculty and staff were extremely appreciative and impressed with our Holiday Parties. We recognize and applaud the hard work of our volunteers as well as those who volunteered for duty-free lunch! I would personally like to thank all of you for your support, words of encouragement, and acts of kindness and appreciation. We will continue to build healthy relationships and work toward student success. I personally believe that happy teachers make happy students, happy students are more successful leaders of their own learning. Thank you for making HCES a great place to be!
This semester we will continue our quest toward student success with Accelerated Reader, DIBELS, ACAP and iReady.
We are still celebrating our A (94) on our 2021-2022 State Report Card. Our previous report card (2019-2020) grade was a 99. Our scores fell due to attendance and math achievement. Last year, math scores decreased across the state. We are currently working on increasing student achievement in math and look forward to seeing those scores improve.
Thank you so much for your support,
Dr. Perkins
