Hampton Cove Middle School

Last week in 8^th grade Science, students had to apply their knowledge of Newton's Laws of Motion to create carnival games.  We challenged them to utilize the engineering design process to brainstorm, develop and modify games that were engaging.  The week was spent planning and building the games with the end goal of putting on a carnival for 6^th grade students.  During their Science classes, students set up their games and 6^th graders joined in on the fun!  The games were top notch, so we set them up for our rising 6^th graders at Becoming A Bull! Infographics were created by the 8^th graders for the 6^th graders to read about how the game connected with our 8^th grade standards.  They asked questions and played the games.  Phunky Physics Playland led to a Perfect Science Exploration!
