Our first featured student artist is Sarah Robinson, an exceptionally talented singer and guitarist whose skills left me increasingly impressed during our conversation. Sarah and I first crossed paths last spring, and we quickly formed a strong connection. During our interview we delved into her passions while making music together. We played some of our favorite songs, with me attempting to harmonize alongside her professionally trained voice. As we shared music, I asked Sarah about the origins of her musical journey, and she revealed that she has been playing the guitar for nine years since 2014, starting at the Huntsville Institute of Music. When I inquired about her biggest musical inspiration, she pointed to Adele, and this influence shines brightly in her vocal style. Our conversation then turned to the topic of stage fright, and to my surprise, Sarah mentioned that after years of performing for crowds, she hardly ever gets nervous. To wrap up, I asked Sarah about her favorite places to perform in Huntsville, and she mentioned frequenting downtown venues like Honest Coffee and Green Bus Brewery.
Keep an eye out for her performances, and do not forget to show your support for Sarah by following her on her social media platforms!
