The Golf team has had a good start to the 2024 season. On 3/7 the boys team participated in a match at Huntsville Country Club against Sparkman and Buckhorn. The boys won by 4 strokes over Sparkman and Buckhorn finished third. Leading the way for HHS was Cam Mahathey shooting a 40, followed by Payton Jackson 44, Bryson Spearman 45, and Payton Davis with a 47.
The girls participated in the annual Hoover March Madness tournament at Hoover Country Club on March 4th and 5th. Leading the way for HHS was Annclaire Shultz who shot a personal best over two days. She had a personal record 79 on Monday and shot an 81 on Tuesday besting her 2 day average by 20 strokes.
On 2/28 the boys and girls teams participated in the annual Predator Cup match play event against Grissom. The boys won the Ryder Cup style event 4-1. Winning matches were Cam Mahathey, Payton Jackson, Bryson Spearman, and Sam Rice.
On 2/26 the boys finished 3rd at the Madison County HS Invitational held at Hampton Cove Robert Trent Jones Course shooting a 316. Leading the way was Cam Mahathey who shot a one under par 71 and finished in 4th place individually. Also scoring were Sam Rice 77, Payton Jackson 83, and Gavin Carney 85. They girls team also participated in this tournament and in the Auburn Invitational the week before at Saugahatchee Country Club.
