This year’s National Honor Society class has been very successful in representing Huntsville High School by means of strong academics and leadership, as well as supporting the community through service projects and donations.

This year, the NHS has hosted representatives from First Stop, Merrimack Hall, and Luna Farms. At each meeting, students work together to donate supplies to each of these organizations and help raise awareness for the values of each charity. Hosting these companies also allows students to gain access to volunteer opportunities as the Huntsville High School chapter of NHS strongly encourages students to earn various hours of community service.

he National Honor Society Officers at Huntsville High meet monthly to plan and discuss upcoming events and meetings. These students, elected by their peers, help keep the chapter organized and on track with grades and service hours. NHS President Addison McCary recognizes her favorite part of being president as: “being able to watch people learn more about the things that are going on in their community and helping those around me by volunteering.” She believes that the importance of the NHS is rooted in being able to celebrate students for working hard in their education, leadership, and overall character. The NHS students here at Huntsville proudly represent the High School through their selflessness in the community, their leadership towards underclassmen, and their excellence in the classroom.
