The Huntsville High Tennis Team started the year with a blazing hot tryout week. There were many eager to join the team on both sides, girl and boys. Everyone came out and pushed through the heat to give it their all and show Coach Morton what they were capable of for the team. This energy was shown on the court and off the court from hitting drills to picking up balls. However, this also made decision day difficult for Coach Morton to decide. With such a wide range of physical and mental strength, it came down to inches of those who made the team and not.
The Huntsville High Boys Tennis Team consists of 8 returning players from 2024 - Dillon Clarke, John Brinkley, William Hansberger, Jason Cribbet, Timothy MacKenzie, Samuel Pearsall, Dalton Smith, and Sebastian Gotvald. All these players worked hard this summer to once again return to the team and showed outstanding skills on and off the court. The new and upcoming members of the Huntsville High Boys Tennis Team were Henry Williams, Brooks Schweitzer, Ryan Beatty, and Patrick Ivan. Who will make varsity and junior varsity is still a mystery with all the talent among these young players.
The Huntsville High Girls Tennis Team consists of 9 returning players - Gianna Burch, Madi Kelly, Emma Kate Chandler, Caroline Stapler, Mazie MacGrotty, Claire Moon, Taliyah Williams, Madison Letterle, and Sophie Shearburn. After a great week of tryouts, the girls added Corrine Wester, Ali Meko, Mariah Holt, and Addison Bryant. Going into this school year, preparing for our spring season, everyone is hard working and has improved after practicing all summer!
The Huntsville High School Tennis Team is looking forward to another very successful season!
