The young cybersecurity team at HHS performed above expectations in the first Qualifying round for CyberPatriot XVII with two perfect scores.
HHS competed in the first round with 6 teams, 5 open division teams and 1 Space Force JROTC team. All six teams scored at or above the average score dispite having only three returning seniors out of the 36 person team. Each team consists of 6 participants with individuals focusing on securing Windows operating systems, Linux operating systems and network security.
Teams are given a computer system that has been attacked and must find out what has been compromised, fix it and secure the system so it does not happen again. HHS had 2 perfect scores and a HHS third team score 190 out of 200.
In the state 4 teams had perfect scores with an state average of 145, while HHS average was a 178.
