Huntsville High School student Annclaire Shultz has been named one of the two recipients of the State Outstanding Choral Student Award by the Alabama Vocal Association (AVA).
This prestigious honor recognizes exceptional high school choral students across Alabama. The selection process begins at the district level, where auditions determine one Tenor/Bass and one Treble winner from each district. These district winners then advance to the state-level competition, where they compete for the titles of Outstanding Tenor/Bass and Outstanding Treble Choral Student. Candidates are evaluated based on their resume, a vocal solo performance, and an interview at both the district and state levels. Winners receive scholarships and are recognized at the All-State Chorus Concert.
For the 2024-2025 cycle, the registration deadline was September 27, 2024, with virtual auditions held in November and December. Specific dates varied by district.
