Mr. Christoper Rick served 30 years as an enlisted Soldier and as an officer in the Army in the National Guard, Reserves, and mobilized Army. He always wanted to be in the military, and it helped him pay for college. Mr. Rick was deployed to Afghanistan, Kuwait, Hurricane Katrina, and taught at the Latvian National Defense Academy in Riga, Latvia. The most appealing part of being in the Army was the opportunity to make money. There were always challenges but working with my team was the best way to work past the problems. My family supported me because they were happy not to have to pay for college. As a Guardsman, you bring the perspective of having to manage a family and a civilian career.
