Ms. Parker’s Army MOS 00R/79R Recruiter. She served for 18 years as a recruiter with an additional six years as a telecommunications operator and administrative specialist.
Her decision to join the military was motivated by a desire to see a positive outlook for her future and secure a good retirement. Enlisting citizens in the Army and teaching Army JROTC students were the best parts of the job and the reason why she stayed in the service for a good portion of her life.The most appealing part of the Army was being able to retire before the age of 50. The most significant hurtles or challenges she faced during her military career were trying to balance between her professional career and being a dedicated single mother. When she announced to her family that she was joining the Army her Mom was elated. She hopes to impart on students, motivation and confidence using positive encouragement. She considers every day a learning opportunity where she can share knowledge and help students prepared for a brighter future.
