Jones Valley Retiree Stacey Besherse returned for a week in January to teach a coding class to all Jones Valley students. Mrs. Besherse retired last school year after serving 27 years teaching Pre-K, 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Before retiring, Mrs. Besherse's focus for several years was on the STEM program. During her time at JVE her students participated in the ACTE (Alabama Consortium for Technology in Education). Categories included programming, digital photography, videography, animation, audio, digital art, game creation, hardware, multimedia projects, 3D design, robotics, website design and app creation. It was no surprise that her students placed in local competition and several went on to participate in the State Competition. In retirement Mrs. Besherse is spending her time volunteering at her children's schools and babysitting grandchildren. We appreciate the week that Mrs. Besherse shared with Jones Valley students. Thanks, Mrs. Woo for planning and inviting our special guest!
