We are so thankful that the Independent Musical Productions (IMP) presented a shortened version of Color Purple for our students on Friday, February 23!

The Color Purple is a musical with music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray, and a book by Marsha Norman, based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Alice Walker and its 1985 film adaptation. The musical follows the journey of Celie, an African American woman in the American South from the early to mid-20th century.

It was a great performance and all of our students really enjoyed it. The director of the musical is Mrs. Vivienne Atkins, who was the theatre teacher here at Lee High School for over 30 years. She was also the teacher of our principal Mrs. Torain while she was here.

Thanks to Independent Musical Productions (IMP) for performing for us!
