A group of our middle school girls were selected to participate in the Girl’s Engaged in Math and Science (GEMS) Expo. They presented their project, “What Variables Affect the Connectivity of a Radio Frequency Car Remote Controller?” on Thursday, February 8th at the Cook’s Museum in Decatur.

To prepare for the EXPO the Mountain Gap GEMS Group met once a week to learn about waves and conduct their experiment. The day of the expo was filled with engaging STEM activities with other girls across north Alabama, including dissecting a squid and a tour around the museum.
