The first day of school was filled with excitement, new friendships, and the promise of a year full of learning and discovery. Students in Mrs. Herrin's 2nd grade class, eagerly read the book First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg, which tells the story of Sarah, who is nervous about starting at a new school. As they listened to the story, the children could relate to Sarah's feelings, making the experience both engaging and comforting. After the reading, the students made "jitter juice," a fun and colorful drink to help ease their nerves and celebrate the start of a new school year. The activity helped build a sense of community and excitement among the students as they prepared for the adventures ahead.
