We honored Black History with a special day dedicated to embracing natural hair and self-love. Students proudly showcased their curls, coils, braids, and locs while engaging in meaningful activities centered around identity and confidence. The day began with powerful affirmations, reminding students that their hair is beautiful and unique. They then explored books like Hair Love by Matthew A. Cherry and Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut by Derrick Barnes, sparking conversations about representation and self-acceptance. Lastly, students expressed their appreciation for their hair through writing, art, and storytelling.
