In 5th grade we worked through the engineering design process in Science while building Dams. Each group gathered materials, researched ideas, made a plan, and constructed a dam that would stop water to create a reservoir. They were also tasked with constructing a valve that would stop the water, allow some to escape, and then stop the water again. It was a fun process full of team work and problem solving.
