Short the Squirrel turned three on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Short is Alabama's reading mascot. He decided to come and visit Montview again! This time Pre-K through 2nd grade was invited! Short read a story and spoke about the importance of reading. First grade had on their Short the Squirrel shirts and capes to help celebrate. They even got to take a Short the Squirrel book home that Friday! Everyone enjoyed celebrating his birthday in the cafeteria!
