Montview Family Literacy Night is all about connecting  home and school for literacy development. Students and parents were engaged in games that promoted phonics and phonemic awareness skills such as Digraph Ping Pong and Vowel Sound S'Mores. The main campground allowed parents and students to read together in the tents around a cozy campfire. Families also were able to explore genres of books in the library using a fun scavenger hunt or go listen to a read aloud with 3rd Grade or 5th grade teachers. To end the night, campers could enjoy dinner in the "Camp Read Aloud Canteen." A big shout out to Ms. Phillips, the volunteers, staff, and Redstone Arsenal for helping make this event great!
