New Century Students Work on Construction Projects

New Century engineering and architecture classes have been working on a big project this semester. Students are currently constructing raised garden beds to be used by some of the environmental science classes. These raised beds are part of a bigger garden project involving a 20 ft. x 20ft. raised bed garden in between the 9 x16 greenhouse and a 10 x 14 shed. This project is so ambitious that it is expected to continue into the next school year.

These classes are working on other construction projects as well. Some students are working to assemble a set of wooden shelves to place in the hallway while another group is hard at work trying to construct a wood shop. All students have been working on an individual project that involves creating a piece of furniture that students can use in their home or in a college dorm room. We are all very excited to see how these projects turn out!
