NCTHS students receive investment money.

Meet Jihad El-Amin and Erick Loyd, two New Century seniors making waves in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). Both students will be engineering and computer science strand completers at graduation as well as Work-Based Learning prodigies! Last semester, these seniors participated in an internship with datakata, a local start-up data science company co-founded by Jonathan Rosswog and Ella Duus. Here they developed static websites, researched algorithms of metadata, and applied project management systems. During this time, Jihad created a business concept he calls “Tech N' Teach”, which aims to conduct quality STEM-based activities for younger students. He and Erick co-founded the company and partnered with YMCA where they volunteer three times a week to administer activities showing how science is fun!

Most recently, Jihad & Erick have secured an investor to enhance their business concept. Their dedication to both academics and community outreach is inspiring, showcasing the limitless potential within STEM.
