Student Cell Phone Usage

Recently we have seen an uptick in cell phone possession and/or use of our students. I want to remind you that the district has a policy that directly addresses it. You can find this policy in Appendix B on pg. 23 of the BLG (Behavior Learning Guide). It specifically states that students may possess the device, however, it MUST be shut off and put away during the school day. Students are not allowed to use the device for phone calls, texting, or taking pictures or video UNLESS granted permission by the teacher or administrator. This includes while on fieldtrips. All teachers and chaperones have phones in case of emergency. The BLG also explains the protocol for teachers, if a student chooses to use a device without permission, on pg. 53. If you have any questions, you may consult the BLG. It can be found on your child's laptop on Clever or on HCS website.
