Dear Whitesburg Family,
Happy Friday!
We have received many Color Run Orders and Student Sponsor Pages. These were due to be turned in today. If you did not turn yours in, please get them to your teacher on Monday.
We must have all business sponsor pack or family sponsor pack sheets turned in by Monday, February 27 (so that we can get the signs made); however, the students can continue to collect individual sponsors until the day of the race. We must have the money and sponsors sheet turned in by the day of the race.
All WBES students can participate in the Color Run. Of course, we encourage each student to get sponsors (it is a fundraiser), but you do not have to get sponsors to participate in the fun of the race. If they participate, they will get the color powder on their clothes, hair, body, shoes, etc. The color powder easily washes out of most fabrics, skin and hair using only soap and water, but it is still recommended leaving those fancy shoes and clothes at home.
We will be sending Permission Slips home in this weeks’ Wednesday Folder. The students MUST have permission for your child to participate in the Fun Run. If your child does not have permission, they will stay inside the school to ensure they do not accidentally get color on them, as students can purchase color and throw at anyone participating in the race.
The students can wear their normal school clothes, but we would love to see them festively decked out in all colors. We still have Whitesburg Elementary Color Run shirts for sale ($5) for students to wear during the Color Run. We chose white shirts so the color powder will really show up. Students may want to wear sunglasses to keep the powder out of their eyes. They are welcome to wear shower caps or masks as well. There is also a small number of sunglasses, socks, and headbands available (until they run out).
Concessions will be available at the Color Run.
Parents are welcome to come and support the WBES Color Run on March 8.
I am blessed to serve with best Whitesburg Elementary Family.
Have a great week!
Thanks,
Mrs. Jones
