Our Whitesburg Elementary Math Growth Percentage at the middle of the year is a 47%. It should be 50% by this time. We have analyzed our data and found areas for growth. We have found that our students are lacking their basic math facts; therefore, this is one of our targeted areas for growth. K-2 should at least know their addition/subtraction facts, and 3-5 should know their multiplication facts.
We need parental help in this area. Students who do not know their facts should be working on them each night. We will be checking for growth each week. Students who do not know their facts may be missing out on fun activities planned for those that do know their facts or free times.
Remember that Whitesburg Elementary is Brick House Strong and all students do all assignments. Learning their facts is an assignment.
