Every student must have a car tag number, even if you are a bus rider or walker, as there are times throughout the year that even bus rider or walkers might need to be picked up in the dismissal line.

You must have your car tag number hanging from your rear-view mirror (number out) to pick up your child in the dismissal line. If you do not have it, you will need to park, go into the office with your I.D. to get your child. Please know that we do this for the safety of your child.

Every student should already have a car tag, given out at Open House. If you did not make it to Meet and Greet, the car tag came home with the student the first day of school.

Please help your child remember their number. This will make the car line go much faster.

Parents cannot park in the parking lot and walk up to get their student. If you do, you will have to go in the office with your ID to get your child.

Thanks for your understanding.

Arrival

· Please keep line pulled all the way to the front of the awning.

· As long as the line is stopped, students can get out of the car from the beginning of the awning to the end of the awning. In other words, you do not have to wait until you get to the front of the line for your student to get out of the car.

· Students should exit the right side of the car. It is dangerous for them to get out on the left side, as there is traffic in the left-hand lane that is going to the office.

· If you child is in a car seat, please have them unbuckle and be ready to exit the car so that we can keep the car line going quickly.

· There are teachers outside that will help students get out of the car if needed. Parents need to stay inside the car.

· If you are going to the office and in the left lane, please still travel slowly for student safety.

· You cannot drive on the left-hand lane to the front of the existing right-hand lane to drop your child off. You must stay in the line and wait your turn.

Dismissal

· Please make sure your child’s teacher know how they are getting home.

· Students’ transportation cannot change daily. There needs to be one way they are getting home unless there is an emergency.

· If there is an emergency and you need to get a message to your child’s parent, please get that message to the office by noon. Teachers do not always have time to check messages during the day, as they are teaching.

· You cannot park in the parking lot to walk up with your number to pick up your child.

· Please make sure your car tag is hanging from your rearview mirror with the number facing out.

· Some of you are requesting a 2nd car tag. Second car tags are $1 each. Please send your request with $1 to your child’s teacher and they will send you an additional tag.

· We will require all car tags to be hanging from the rear-view mirrors.

· If you do not have your car tag number, you will have to go to the office, with your ID, to retrieve your child.

· We will let students walk in the rain, but if it is storming, thunder & lightening, we will not let them walk. Most of the time, this will be a last-minute decision because we cannot predict the timing of weather. When the decision to hold walkers is made, we will send you notification.

· Each student is given a car tag number (even if they are bus riders and walkers), because there are days throughout the year that we might have to dismiss school early, we have inclement weather as stated above, or parents have special parent circumstances that will cause them to have to pick up their child in the car line. On those days, you must have your car tag number to pick up your child in the dismissal car line. If you do not have the car tag number, you will be directed to the office, with your ID, to pick up your child. Please know we are not trying to make your life difficult. We are trying to keep you children safe.

· Please be at the bus stop when your child is arriving in the evening. For the first week, the bus may be a little late arriving as routes are being adjusted.
