On March, 31st the atmosphere at Weatherly Heights Elementary was electric as students, teachers, and staff gathered for a spirited ACAP (Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program) pep rally that showcased school pride and camaraderie. The event, held outside on school grounds, brought together students from PreK through fifth grade for an event filled with fun, encouragement, and a touch of friendly competition.
Teachers donned inflatable costumes, delighting students and added an element of humor to the events. The inflatable outfits not only entertained but also ignited enthusiasm among the students, who cheered and laughed at their teachers' playful antics.
In a show of unity, PreK, Kindergarten, and first-grade students created colorful signs emblazoned with motivational messages to encourage their peers in grades 2 through 5. Parading around the gym, these young students proudly displayed their signs while distributing candy to their classmates, fostering a sense of teamwork and support throughout the school.
The highlight of the pep rally was a thrilling teacher relay race, where teachers teamed up with students to tackle a series of quiz questions. The collaboration between students and teachers added excitement to the competition, as they raced against the clock to answer questions correctly. Laughter and cheers filled the air as teams hurried to complete their tasks, demonstrating the strong bond between educators and students at Weatherly Heights.
One teacher expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the staff and students, stating, "Today was all about building excitement for the upcoming ACAP assessments. It's fantastic to see our school community come together in such a fun and supportive way."
