Secondary Education
The Department of Secondary Education covers secondary programs in Grades 6-8, 7-8, and 9-12 schools.
The mission of The Department of Secondary Education is to ensure all secondary students receive a rigorous, appropriate, and challenging course of instruction. Our focus is to facilitate the classroom in providing great instruction, for every student, in every class, every day. Our expectation is that all students will graduate from Huntsville City Schools well prepared for college and/or the workforce.
Secondary Education Goals:
Support the implementation of the district's secondary programs and curriculum
Provide support to administrators, teachers, and other staff in developing and following recognized best practices.
Identify and provide opportunities for staff professional development
Monitor the implementation of the district's secondary programs through various accountability measures
