Huntsville City Schools hosted a retirement ceremony to honor teachers, support staff, and administrators retiring for the 2021-2022 school year.
The HCS Human Resources Department recognized more than 100 employees. The event was held recently at Burritt on the Mountain in Huntsville.
Those who received special recognitions included Karen Conner at ASFL Elementary and Jennifer Steele at Weatherly Heights Elementary. Both are retiring after 33 years of teaching.
Additionally, support staff with the most years of service include Larry Petty at Grissom High with 32 years and Tracy Powell in Operations with 28 years of service.
