Alexander Ivan, a senior at New Century Technology High School, advanced to become a semifinalist in the 2022 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

Of the 3.7 million high school seniors across the country, Ivan is among only 620 students nationwide selected as semifinalists. He is one of 14 students across Alabama to advance to the next round of the competition.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964, recognizes the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. The seniors selected as 2022 U.S. Presidential Scholars will be announced in May.
