HCS Career and Technical Education is very proud to offer Health Sciences as one of our Career Academies at each one of our high schools. Our students prepare for health professions in a simulated healthcare field. Students who participate in health science are offered hands-on learning experiences, rigorous curriculum, and exposure to many different aspects of the healthcare field. Students learn from teachers who have been in the healthcare field for many years and know exactly what it takes to be successful in the field.
Our Health Science students can earn a nationally recognized certification as a Patient Care Technician. With this certification, our students can get a job right out of high school in the healthcare field. Our students are also trained in CPR and First Aid. These opportunities help our students become college and career ready for a high demand, high wage career field.
