Three Schools Receive Legislative Recognition Awards

Three Huntsville City Schools (HCS) will be recognized as part of the Alabama State Department of Education's (ALSDE) Legislative School Performance Recognition Program.

Hampton Cove Elementary, Montview Elementary and Morris Elementary will receive a Legislative Recognition Award of $5,000 to be used as identified by each school.

The award program, based on the school grading system, recognizes public schools that demonstrate high performance by being ranked in the top 25 percent of public schools in the state or demonstrate exemplary progress by improving their overall annual ranking by at least one letter grade.

'We commend our Huntsville City Schools who received this remarkable achievement,' said Christie Finley, HCS Superintendent. 'This recognition is a testament to the commitment of our students and staff members in striving to be their very best every single day.'
