New Century Technology High School (NCTHS) in Huntsville City Schools (HCS) received the elite honor of being named a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School.

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos today recognized more than 300 public schools across the country as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2020. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

“New Century is excited to be selected as a National Blue Ribbon School,” said NCTHS Principal Sheila Roby. “It’s a great honor, and it shows how hard our faculty works to help students be prepared for the next level of life.”

The coveted National Blue Ribbon Schools award affirms the hard work of educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.  The 2020 National Blue Ribbon Schools Awards Ceremony will be held virtually Nov. 12th and 13th.
