U.S. News & World Report named three Huntsville City Schools among the top 25 high schools in Alabama in its newly published list of best high schools. The list featured New Century Technology High at No. 2, Huntsville High at No. 15 and Virgil Grissom High at No. 21.
“We are very excited to see our schools honored,” said Dr. Clarence Sutton, HCS Chief Academic Officer. “It’s a testament to the wonderful things going on here in Huntsville.
U.S. News & World Report developed the rankings based on data across six factors including college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates. HCS and another school system marked the most schools among the top 25 in Alabama with three from each district.
The same three Huntsville City Schools were also included on last year’s list of best high schools in Alabama.
