Two edge rushers from Jemison High School are preparing for promising futures in college football. Defensive linemen Hezekiah Harris and Grayshaun Swain, who have proven themselves as elite athletes on the field, are earning offers from some of the top college football programs in the country.

Harris Commits to Auburn

Junior defensive end Hezekiah Harris (6-5, 220) has officially committed to play for the Auburn Tigers as part of their 2026 signing class. Harris has already made his mark as one of the most dynamic edge rushers in the state, and Auburn’s coaching staff took notice.

"They’ve got good defensive linemen and good defensive ends," Harris said on his decision to choose Auburn. "They like to let their D-linemen play free, and I like that about them."

Harris’s commitment to Auburn is a testament to his hard work and talent, and it places him among the top recruits for the Auburn football program.

Swain Weighing His Options

Grayshaun Swain (6-3, 220), a senior and member of the 2024 graduating class, is still considering his next step. Swain remains a highly sought-after recruit, receiving multiple offers, including eight from schools in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). With a decision still on the horizon, Swain remains focused on finding the best fit for his future.

As Swain narrows down his choices, he says he is strongly considering UAB, Memphis, Tulane, Arkansas, and Georgia Tech.

"I was trying to look for a place where I could feel like home," Swain says. "I could find somewhere to come in and try to start my freshman year, make a huge impact in my first year."

Swain's talent and versatility on the field have made him a coveted recruit for programs across the South.

Excellence on and off the Field

Rico White, Jemison High School’s head football coach, expressed his pride in both players, not only for their athletic achievements but for their work ethic and leadership.

"You need to see them in practice. You need to see how they practice," White said. "The way they play is the way they practice. They practice full speed."

Their dedication in practice is reflected in their performance on game day, where they help lead Jemison’s defense with outstanding effort and energy. Both Harris and Swain have set a standard of excellence that inspires their teammates and represents the school with pride
