In the true spirit of the season, the U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC) recently brought festive joy to pre-k students at Morris Elementary School. As part of their mission to give back to the community, members of the ACC visited the school to distribute presents to a group of very excited students, ensuring that their Christmas was filled with smiles.
The event, which was organized as part of ACC’s annual holiday outreach program, was a heartwarming reminder of the importance of giving. “It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community,” said COL Jessie Griffith, III. “It’s also a wonderful chance to interact with the kids and bring some joy to their Christmas season.”
The process of collecting gifts for the children began in mid-November, with the command setting up a giving tree in the foyer of their headquarters. The tree displayed the names of children from Morris Elementary, and ACC team members eagerly picked names so they could purchase gifts that the students had asked for.
“It really does remind you of the human spirit and how we’re all connected,” said Morris Elementary Principal Dr. Taunya Smith, adding that “it’s a big deal and we’re very thankful.”
As the holiday season continues, events like this one serve as a reminder of the importance of community involvement and the power of small acts of kindness.
