Huntsville City Schools (HCS) and district offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, due to the onset of hazardous winter weather. This decision prioritizes the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff members.
Activities: All after-school programs, athletics, and extracurricular events previously scheduled for Friday evening or the weekend will be postponed to a later date.
Access: HCS buildings and facilities will be closed on Friday and remain off limits throughout the weekend so HCS crews can ensure buildings and grounds are safe for operations.
Attendance: Students and employees should not report to campuses unless otherwise directed by their supervisors.
E-Learning: No e-learning sessions will take place.
Plans for Monday, Jan. 13
While the district hopes to resume normal operations on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, district leaders will assess conditions on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025 and issue a decision by 5 p.m. on Sunday regarding school operations for Monday.
